The Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings is taking its show on the road this week, including a prestigious stop Thursday at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. The 16-member ensemble -- whose ranks are drawn mostly from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra -- will also perform in Hartford, Conn., and Ithaca, N.Y., before returning to play for a hometown audience.
